My husband has Pure Automatic Failure and a recent complication has limited his ability to walk. Having a wheelchair requires a ramp to get out of the house. He’s a participant with Senior Care Partners, PACE, who arranged for All American Ramp Rentals to install the ramp. Dustin and Chris came early Tuesday to install it. They knew I had some questions and concerns and took time to listen, explain, and address my issues. It was all good until I discovered that there was no longer a way to get to the front door except the ramp from the driveway. I have a piano studio in my home and families park on the street and have a short walk to the front door. That’s true for the mail person and UPS too. I told Dustin I needed to have steps on the front walk to the short portion of the ramp leading to the door. He wasn’t sure PACE would pay for it because the need was for wheelchair access for Dave. He would ask and I said I would pay out of my business if I had to. I was delighted when they came today and installed the stairs. PACE is covering it. Thank you PACE and thank you Dustin and Chris for taking care of everything! We hope Dave will recover from this setback and be able to walk again. And because it’s not a ramp made with wood and attached to the house, it could be removed in the future.
